High-Volume Metal Stamping & Die Engineering
Metal Stamping is the engine of mass production. It involves placing flat sheet metal, in either coil or blank form, into a stamping press where a tool and die surface forms the metal into a net shape. Unlike CNC processes which are slower and suited for low volumes, Stamping is built for speed and scalability.
At JUCHENG, we offer comprehensive stamping solutions ranging from single-stage operations to complex Progressive Die Stamping. Our facility houses high-tonnage mechanical and hydraulic presses capable of churning out thousands of identical parts per hour. We don't just run the parts; we engineer and manufacture the Dies (Molds) in-house, ensuring that we control quality, cost, and maintenance from the very first strike to the millionth part.

JUCHENG’s Stamping & Tooling Capacities

Our stamping workshop is equipped to handle diverse production requirements:
  • Progressive Die Stamping: Our flagship capability. We feed metal coils through a multi-station die that performs cutting, bending, and forming simultaneously. This is the fastest method for producing complex parts like electrical terminals and brackets.
  • Deep Drawing: We specialize in "Deep Draw" stamping, transforming flat sheets into hollow, cylindrical, or box-shaped parts (like cans or housings) where the depth exceeds the diameter.
  • In-House Tool Room: We design, build, and maintain our own Class-A dies. This ensures rapid repair and modification without waiting for external vendors.
  • Press Capacity: Our fleet ranges from 45-ton high-speed presses for small precision clips to 400-ton hydraulic presses for heavy-gauge automotive structural components.
  • Secondary Operations: We provide in-line tapping, deburring, and washing to deliver ready-to-assemble components.

Materials Available

Stamping Material Selection
Stamping requires materials with specific ductility and elongation properties:
Material Class Recommended Process Why Stamping?
Copper & Brass C11000, C26000 Excellent ductility. The standard for electrical contacts, terminals, and decorative trim.
Cold Rolled Steel SPCC, 1008/1010 The most cost-effective material for high-volume housings and brackets.
Stainless Steel 304, 301 (Spring) Harder to stamp (wears tooling faster) but essential for medical and corrosion-resistant parts.
Aluminum 3003, 5052 Good formability. Used for lightweight heat shields and automotive panels.
Spring Steel SK5, High Carbon Used for clips and fasteners that need to snap back after deformation.

Comparison

Comparison: Stamping vs. CNC Machining vs. Laser Cutting
When does it make sense to invest in a Stamping Die?
Feature Metal Stamping Fiber Laser & Bending CNC Machining
Volume High (10k - 1M+) Low to Medium (< 5k) Low to Medium
Tooling Cost High (Custom Die required) Zero / Low Low (Fixtures only)
Unit Cost Lowest (Pennies per part) Medium High
Production Speed Seconds per part Minutes per part Minutes/Hours per part
Geometry Thin walls, constant thickness Flat patterns folded 3D Sculpted blocks
Best For Mass Production, Clips, Cans Prototypes, Custom Enclosures Complex solid parts

Why Choose Us

The JUCHENG Stamping Advantage
  • Lifetime Tooling Warranty: For high-volume production contracts, we maintain and repair the dies at our own cost for the life of the project.
  • Cost Down Engineering: Our engineers optimize the "Strip Layout" to minimize scrap waste, which significantly reduces raw material costs in mass production.
  • Precision & Consistency: Unlike manual bending which varies from operator to operator, a stamping die produces identical parts every single hit, ensuring 100% interchangeability.
  • Scalability: We can start with "Soft Tooling" (Laser/Bend) for prototypes and seamlessly transition you to "Hard Tooling" (Stamping) as your demand spikes.

Advantages

Benefits of Precision Stamping
  • Lowest Cost Per Part: Once the tooling is paid for, the piece price drops dramatically compared to any other metalworking method.
  • High Speed: Capable of producing hundreds of parts per minute on high-speed presses.
  • Complexity: Can combine cutting, bending, coining, and tapping into a single machine stroke.
  • Strength: Work-hardening during the stamping process can actually make the part stronger than the raw sheet material.

Industries Served

Industries Driven by Stamped Parts
