CNC Machining Guidelines for 6082

  • Surface Texture: 6082 has a slightly different grain structure than 6061. Machined surfaces may appear slightly more "grainy" before polishing, but this does not affect tolerance.
  • Anodizing Color: Due to the Manganese content, clear anodizing may have a slight yellowish or brownish tint compared to the silver-clear of 6061. Black or dark colors are recommended for cosmetic uniformity.
  • Deburring: Burrs can be tougher. We use automated tumbling or manual deburring to ensure safe, smooth edges.
