Hei-Cast 8570 Vacuum Casting Material

Engineered to simulate the performance of Heat-Stabilized ABS, Polypropylene, or even PPS, this high-performance resin offers an exceptional Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) of approximately 120°C. Basic Characteristics & Composition

Hei-Cast 8570 is a premium three-component system (Polyol, Isocyanate, Catalyst) designed for maximum thermal stability.
  • Extreme Heat Resistance: Withstanding temperatures up to 120°C, it rivals the thermal performance of many injection-molded engineering thermoplastics.
  • High Rigidity: It exhibits a high flexural modulus, ensuring parts do not sag or warp under thermal load.
  • Dimensional Stability: Features very low shrinkage and excellent creep resistance, making it suitable for precision mechanical parts.
  • Chemical Resistance: Offers improved resistance to automotive fluids (oils, coolants) compared to standard resins.

Color Options

  • Standard: Pale Brown / Beige (Natural).
  • Finishing: Due to its natural dark beige color, it is not suitable for transparent or bright white parts without painting. However, its hard surface is an excellent base for high-temp paints and primers applied by JUCHENG's finishing team.

2. PROCESSING 
  • Vacuum Casting: Must be processed in a high-vacuum chamber. The high viscosity requires careful mold gating design to ensure complete filling.
  • Pot Life: Short (approx. 5-7 minutes). Requires rapid mixing and pouring.
  • Demolding: 60-90 minutes at 70°C.
  • Post-Curing: Critical. A stepped high-temperature post-cure cycle (e.g., ramping up to 120°C) is mandatory. Without this, the material will not achieve its heat resistance properties.
3. PRECAUTIONS:
  • Brittleness: High heat resistance often correlates with lower impact strength. Avoid thin snap-fits or sharp internal corners.
  • Mold Life: High-temp resins can be aggressive to silicone molds, potentially reducing mold life to 12-15 parts.
4. STORAGE:
  • Conditions: Store in a cool, dry place. The catalyst component requires specific handling.

Hei-Cast 8570 is the standard for "Hot Zone" validation:
  • Automotive: Intake manifolds, cylinder head covers, turbocharger ducting prototypes, radiator components.
  • Lighting: Reflectors and bezels for high-intensity discharge (HID) or LED lamps.
  • Industrial: Housings for pumps handling hot liquids, industrial heater vents.
  • Electronics: Power supply chassis, heat sink mounts, projector internal frames.

Vacuum Casting Process Compatibility

  • Silicone Tooling: Compatible with heat-resistant silicone grades.
  • Machining: Cured parts are very hard and machine like metal or bone. Excellent for drilling precision holes post-casting.
  • Inserts: Ideal for heat-staking inserts, as the material will not soften easily under the heat of the installation tip.
